Can Invisalign Be Combined With Other Treatments?

In this video, Dr. Rose Magno shares how Invisalign can be paired with treatments like implants to achieve functional and aesthetic results. Patients from San Francisco, East Bay, and Oakland can schedule a consultation to explore how a combined approach can enhance their smile.

I once treated a patient who was missing a front tooth. The space left by the extracted tooth was too small to properly place a replacement because the neighboring teeth had shifted over time. This is a common issue when a tooth is removed prematurely without addressing the gap.

To resolve this, I used Invisalign to gradually move the surrounding teeth apart, creating enough space for a properly sized replacement. Once the alignment was corrected, I placed an implant in the gap and restored it with a crown that matched the patient’s natural teeth. Without first adjusting the spacing, the replacement would have looked disproportionate and out of place, especially since it was in the front of the mouth where aesthetics are critical.

This was a great example of combining treatments—in this case, Invisalign and an implant—to achieve a functional and symmetrical result. Addressing both alignment and restoration ensured the patient had a natural-looking and confident smile. This type of comprehensive approach is something I enjoy offering to meet my patients’ needs.
