Options For Replacing a Single Tooth

In this video, Dr. Rose Magno explains how implants are customized for a natural, durable result. Schedule a consultation at our Emeryville office to start restoring your smile.

If you come in with a missing tooth and don’t require any extractions, the first step is to conduct a thorough exam and take X-rays to evaluate the condition of your jaw and surrounding teeth. I’ll also take measurements to determine the appropriate size and length of the implant. Since implants are made of durable titanium, they’re built to last for many years.

Once we have everything assessed, we can discuss your preferences, including the color and shade of the new tooth to ensure it matches your natural teeth. This is part of the preliminary steps before moving forward with the procedure.

Placing the implant itself is a relatively simple and quick process, and in many cases, it can be done on the same day. After placing the implant, we’ll create a temporary crown to ensure you have something functional until the final restoration is ready.

Next, we’ll take impressions and send them to the lab to create the custom crown. Depending on the specifics—like color and size—the final crown can typically be placed within one to two weeks, completing your restoration and providing you with a fully functional tooth.
