What Can I Eat After Dental Implant Treatment?

In this video, Dr. Rose Magno explains how to ease into eating after implant placement and enjoy long-term success. Schedule a consultation in Emeryville to discuss your post-treatment care.

After getting your implant, it’s important to take it easy in the beginning. While it’s exciting to have your new teeth, you want to ease into your new routine. For the first few days and weeks, avoid eating hard or tough foods like steak, apples, or anything that could cause undue pressure on the implant, such as chewing on chicken bones. Eating too quickly or biting into hard foods can not only damage your teeth but also break your implant.

Start slow and gradually adjust to your new teeth. After the initial healing period, you can resume eating most foods, but always remember to be cautious. With time, you’ll be able to enjoy a wide variety of foods without any issues. Just take care in the beginning to ensure the best long-term outcome for your implant.
