What Are Porcelain Veneers?

In this video, Dr. Rose Magno explains how porcelain veneers can improve the shape, color, and appearance of your smile.

Most people who want veneers do so because they don’t like the way their teeth look or because they have deep stains, such as tetracycline stains, that cannot be corrected with bleaching alone.

Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic treatment that involves placing a thin layer of porcelain over the front surface of your teeth, similar to a facade on a building. Veneers act like covers for the teeth and allow us to change the size, shape, length, width, and color of your smile without altering the entire tooth structure. They are highly customizable, which allows us to create a more balanced and aesthetic appearance.

Usually, we place veneers in even numbers, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 teeth at a time. The reason for this is symmetry. When your smile is balanced evenly from one side to the other, the final result tends to look much more natural and attractive.

In some cases, patients choose to whiten their teeth before getting veneers to create an even more dramatic transformation. We’ve had a lot of success with veneers, and patients are often extremely happy with the way their teeth look afterward.

In addition to veneers, we also provide other cosmetic and restorative procedures, including teeth whitening, crowns, implant crowns, and bridges, all designed to improve both the appearance and function of your smile.

Of course, maintaining veneers is important. You still need to care for them just like your natural teeth by brushing and flossing regularly so they last a long time and continue looking great.
